The Lure of Temptation
Gary McBride,
Christians, can be "hooked" in harmful and ungodly behaviors that often cause great damage.
Fishing is an activity where bait, a lure, fools the fish into thinking that their favorite food is easily available. The fish does not see the danger until it takes the bait and finds the hidden hook. This is much like the lure of sexual satisfaction outside of marriage. People, even Christians, can be "hooked" in harmful and ungodly behaviors that often cause great damage.
The biggest on-going battle that I as a Christian face is whether I choose "my will be done" or whether I say to God "Your will be done."
