The Bible does not cover up the sins of God's servants. King Solomon was a great man and the Lord used him to write two books of Scripture and most of a third. Solomon started off well in life but ended up sadly.
This book, The Lover and the Preacher, takes up two of Solomon's books, Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes. The author of Ecclesiastes wrote after many years of experience. The Song of Songs which is Solomon's contains the words of a young couple in love for the first time, probably Solomon and his first wife.
On this basis Dr. Harlow explains these two books verse by verse. His book, on Proverbs - The kings Wisdom, would help you to understand the second book Solomon wrote.
