Our Global Focus

The work of EPI began in Africa with the translation of the first title, Start of the Race, into Congo Swahili. The goal was to present profound Biblical truth in simple, everyday English. Today the Everyday Bible Commentary Series as well as many additional books and resources are available in over 80 countries around the world. They have been translated and printed in Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Congo Swahili and many other languages. These resources are extremely versatile and are used as correspondence courses, teaching materials, small group study guides and tools for prison ministry.

Our Vision

We believe that every Christian in every local church should understand the truths of Scripture in order:

  • To live transformed lives that reflect the Saviour and point others to the Lord Jesus Christ
  • To be effective servants of Christ by consistently applying the truths of God’s Word to our own lives
  • To know and love the Person and redeeming work of Jesus Christ
  • To worship our Saviour in the beauty of holiness
  • To remain true to Christ and His Word when false teaching is multiplying.
  • To prepare elders to teach and defend the flock. (1Tim. 3:2)
  • To equip women to teach younger women. (Titus 2:3,4)
  • To help parents bring up their children in the truth of God's Word. (Eph. 6:4)
  • To remind young men to have the Word of God living and active in their lives. (1John 2:14)
  • To strengthen Sunday school teachers bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord (Eph 6:4)

We cannot teach what we do not know. Before anyone can teach others, they must study the Scriptures themselves. EPI resources have been developed to make this possible.

Our Purpose

To encourage the proclamation of the Gospel, the practice of Bible Study, and progress in living the Christian life to the glory of God. As Dr. Harlow often said: “The whole Word for the whole world!”

Our Mission

EPI publishes doctrinally sound, cross-cultural, Bible-based books in multiple languages to equip missionaries, national workers, and believers, primarily in developing countries, to proclaim the gospel, and to encourage Biblical understanding, and the practice of Biblical principles.

Our Statement of Faith

Bible

The Bible is inspired of God, inerrant in the original documents and of final authority in all matters of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16

One God

There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God, born of a virgin, sinlessly perfect. His sacrifice is substitutionary and representative. He rose bodily from the dead and ascended to His Father's right hand, where He now ministers as our Great High Priest. He will come to rapture His church and subsequently reign over the earth. John 1:1, 14, 18; 1 Peter 1:19; Ephesians 1: 19-21; Hebrews 4: 15-16; 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18; Revelation 20-22

Human Race

Each member of the human race is fallen, sinful, and lost, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of man. Redemption is wholly by the blood of Christ, and salvation is by grace, through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3: 9-26; John 3: 5-8, 16

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit indwells the believer who is thus empowered to live a godly life. Romans 8: 1-17

Resurrection

There will be a resurrection of the saved and of the lost; of the saved unto eternal life, and of the lost unto eternal and conscious judgement. Revelation 20: 11-15

The Church

The Church began with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. These believers are united to Him and to one another by the indwelling Spirit. The Church's calling, hope and destiny are heavenly, and its chief functions are to glorify God and to witness for Christ until His Return. Acts 2; Ephesians 4: 1-16; 1 Peter 2: 9-12

Gifts

Christ, our Risen Head is giver of gifts, such as evangelists, pastors, and teachers, and these men are responsible to Him for their service. They are given "for the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Ephesians 4:12

Child of God

Every true child of God possesses eternal life and being justified, sanctified and sealed with the Holy Spirit, is safe and secure for all eternity. John 10: 27-30; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Ephesians 1: 13-14
