Description

It is important that the churches should grow. This means that every believer should grow strong in the faith. They will then reach out and lead others to Christ. These new believers will be added to the local church which in this way grows stronger. Some of the Christians may want to start a new work in another place. This new church should also keep on growing.

But church growth must be according to God's plan. After all, it is His church, the church of God. In this book the author shows how the churches of the New Testament grew according to God's plan. The church began on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit united 120 believers into one body. The new church grew and developed in Antioch and Corinth, and on to the decay of Thyatira, Sardis and Laodicea. This book is concerned not so much about doctrine, but rather with church practice and teaching about the church.
