Description

The apostle Paul could say many good things about the church in Corinth, but he had to correct what was wrong. There probably never has been a perfect church in the past nor yet today.

What would it be like if there was one? By "perfect" we must mean according to God's standards. Without claiming perfection, even approximation, every Christian church should strive to follow the pattern God desires. Spirit guided apostles wrote to churches in the first century according to God's will and told them what they should do. We ought to know what they wrote, seek to mould out churches in a similar way, and pray for the Lord's help in doing so.

So the imperfect chruch may help us to draw closer to God's standard of what a church really should be.
